Allegory
An allegory is a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, especially a moral or political one. An allegory is a powerful way to represent an idea because it is easier to understand than giving the actual meaning. If one can understand how the allegory represents an idea, then the idea itself becomes clearer. The animals represent actual people in the Russian Revolution; the events that occur in the book also relate to the events of the Russian Revolution. If one can find the links between the two, then the Russian Revolution can be understood better. Without the allegory, the importance of the Russian Revolution and the people involved in it would be more difficult to understand.

Exploratory Writing
I would disagree with Squealer's reasoning. Napoleon would not let the animals think for themselves, as shown with Snowball. He had his dogs chase Snowball out of the farm, which shows that he did not want the animals to support Snowball. Since Snowball has left, the animals must listen to Napoleon. Squealer also said that the animals may make the wrong decisions. If I were one of the animals, I would think that even if I did make a mistake, one of the other animals would correct it. Even if I get knocked down, an animal can still help me get up. I can rely on the other animals to keep me on the right path. I do not need an animal to make my decisions for me. I make my own decisions. In other words, the animals should be free to make their own decisions, and the animals should decide what they want to do.
The Qualities of a Good Leader
Intelligence should not be the primary qualification for leadership. Although it is important, it is not necessary to be a good leader. A good leader leads with the opinions of the people being led. A good leader should be able to communicate and express ideas. Being able to listen to others is also a necessary skill. My group selected a leader with these qualities. We mainly focused on communication skills and creativity. The leader should make sure that everything goes well and takes responsibility if something goes wrong.

Being Thankful
It's almost Thanksgiving, and it's time for me to think about what I'm thankful for. I'm thankful for the family that supports what I do and loves me the way I am. I wouldn't be where I am today without my family. I'm thankful that I have a house to live in, as well as food to eat. I know that I am fortunate to have those things. I'm also thankful for my education and my school, even if school is getting harder for me. Each day is a learning experience, and I enjoy every one. Finally, I'm glad that I have a life, and I'm thankful for the fact that I have many more years to enjoy it.

Welcome!
Hello. My name is Yootak Jin, and this is my first blog. The first post of my first blog is going to be about me. I've lived in California for a little more than five years now. I have an older brother and a younger sister. My brother's gone to college, but I'm managing on my own. He does visit from time to time when he's not so busy. I look to my brother for guidance with school, and I take his advice seriously. I'm glad that I still have my sister. Even though she's not the same as my brother, I still appreciate her role in my life. I play clarinet in the school band, and I'm also a member of Math Club. I also play some tennis occasionally with my family. If my brother has said anything about me, then it's probably true. Anyway, that's it for now. Thanks for reading.
